Work for Bigfoot

Recruitment

In order to ensure that we recruit only the most talented individuals, prospective educators are first taken through a rigorous selection process. Firstly, every candidate submits an introductory video and a thorough application form in line with Safer Recruitment guidelines. If successful, they will then be invited to a practical recruitment session. During this recruitment session we:

Observe them teaching a one hour workshop
Meet with them for a one on one interview
Check their ID and right to work in the UK
Safer Recruitment Checks

We ensure that the following is in place for all Bigfoot Educators before they are able to work for us:

An clear, enhanced DBS check, processed within the past 3 years
Public Liability Insurance up to £5million
References from two previous employers, one of which must have observed them working with children

Training

Those who are successful, are then required to attend the Bigfoot Induction Course. This two day training programme is extremely thorough and as well as gaining an in-depth understanding of Bigfoot programmes and our methodology, participants are also trained in:

  • Facilitation Technique
  • Behaviour Management Skills
  • Safeguarding
  • Health and Safety
  • The National Curriculum and how Bigfoot fits into it

Safeguarding

All Educator’s have access to our CPD accredited, Level 3 Safeguarding Course and are required to take it before commencing work unless they have gained the equivalent certificate from another organisation within the past 3 years.
